To what extent were lesson objectives achieved?
According to the assessment portion of this lesson plan, approximately 90% of the students were proficient with the lesson objectives. The majority of students understood the concept and was able to successfully complete the assignment. The other 10% still had an understanding but need further clarification of the subject.

What changes, omissions, or additions to the lesson would you make if you were to teach again?
If I were to teach this lesson again, I would make a couple slight changes. The first change I would make would be going over more examples together as a class. I believe that if more examples were shown, more students would have a full understanding. Another thing I would change would be possibly working in partners instead of alone. I believe that this activity would’ve lent itself to partner work. It would have given the students a chance to collaborate with each other.

What do you envision for the next lesson?

Before starting another lesson, I would make sure that I talk with the couple student who were not proficient with the first assessment and would create a separate activity or go over the first activity one-on-one with them to check again for understanding. Then, the next lesson could be finding metaphors in literature and being able to recognize a metaphor when reading.
